Editorial & Source Verification Policy
How we source, fact-check, and maintain tourism information for Saint Martin's Island.
1. Our Primary Sources
We do not aggregate hearsay or unverified forum posts. Our data originates from:
- Government & Maritime Authorities: Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), and the Cox's Bazar District Administration.
- Direct Vessel Operators: Verified circulars, timetables, and counters issued by vessel fleets (e.g. Karnafuly Ship Builders Ltd.).
- Direct Hospitality Contacts: Official Trade Licenses, direct property managers, and on-island merchant committees.
2. No Scraping or Copyright Infringement
Saint Martin Tour strictly prohibits web scraping. We do not copy text from travel blogs, news portals, or third-party booking sites. All guide texts, itinerary explanations, and factual summaries are originally researched and written by our editorial team.
External links are provided directly to official business websites, official social channels, and Google Maps to enable travelers to cross-check information themselves.
3. No Pay-for-Rankings Policy
We do not accept payment to fabricate "Top 10 Hotel" rankings or promote substandard accommodations. While businesses may request inclusion or updates in our directory, all published listings must meet factual verification standards.
4. Seasonal Data Verification & Expiry
Because tourism on Saint Martin is strictly seasonal (typically November through February), timetables and tariffs from a previous season are never assumed to remain current.
Every published business and vessel record features a visible lastVerified timestamp. Unverified or outdated seasonal records are maintained in draft status until confirmed.
5. Corrections & Feedback Procedure
If you identify any discrepancy, obsolete phone number, or incorrect pricing, please notify us immediately at contact@saintmartintour.com. Corrections are reviewed and published within 24–48 hours.
